O impulsionamento da proposta de taxação internacional dos super-ricos, uma das prioridades brasileiras no G20, foi tema de reunião entre o ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, e o ministro da Economia, Comércio e Negócios espanhol, Carlos Cuerpo, em Roma, nesta quarta-feira (04). A Espanha é um país convidado permanente do fórum.
Os ministros relataram que a proposta de taxação dos super-ricos ganha força diante da necessidade de acelerar o enfrentamento aos desafios globais conjuntos, que incluem esforços para combater a fome e a pobreza, mitigar o endividamento de países de baixa renda e conter as mudanças climáticas.
De acordo com Haddad, os bilionários são cerca de 3 mil pessoas que detém como patrimônio 15 trilhões de dólares.

O ministro brasileiro salientou que a proposta por uma tributação internacional progressiva que hoje é discutida no fórum das maiores economias do mundo é antiga e está balizada por acadêmicos e especialistas que analisam as relações entre economia, democracia e desigualdades.
“Os desafios já colocados vão exigir novas fontes de financiamento e me parece que essa é uma das mais justas, ao afetar muito pouca gente. Estamos falando de algo que vai atingir poucos milhares de pessoas para afetar bilhões. Me parece uma proposta decente do ponto de vista de justiça social, econômica e política”, reforçou o ministro da Fazenda.
Redução de desigualdades
Cuerpo disse que a Espanha está impulsionando a iniciativa brasileira para estabelecer um imposto mínimo global sobre os bilionários. “Temos de alcançar o crescimento em termos nominais, mas também de garantir que esse crescimento seja cada vez mais justo, mais equitativo, reduza as desigualdades que nos últimos anos temos visto crescer”, disse o ministro espanhol, lembrando também da necessidade de intensificar esforços mundiais de combate à fome e de apoio na área de saúde às populações.
Haddad e Cuerpo também falaram sobre os benefícios a serem gerados para ambos os lados, no caso do acordo Mercosul-União Europeia. A boa relação estratégica entre Brasil e Espanha também foi lembrada pelos ministros, bem como o desejo de impulsionar não apenas ações bilaterais, mas aquelas defendidas globalmente pelos países.
