As eleições deste ano terão 366 candidatos a prefeito em Mato Grosso, 25,7% a menos em comparação ao pleito de 2020, que contou com 493 postulantes ao cargo de chefe do executivo municipal.
A redução de candidaturas se confirmou também em âmbito nacional, com o registro de 15.441 candidatos a prefeito em 2024, contra 19.823 em 2020, quando houve 22,10% a mais de pretendentes ao cargo.
O levantamento foi realizado pela equipe técnica da Associação Mato-grossense dos Municípios (AMM), com base em dados do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE).
Conforme a pesquisa, do total de candidatos este ano, 321 são homens e 45 são mulheres. Esse recorte aponta uma diminuição na representação feminina, considerando que em 2020 eram 50 candidatas às prefeituras no estado.
Com relação ao grau de escolaridade, 187 candidatos possuem ensino superior completo este ano, enquanto em 2020, eram 245 graduados.
Os nascidos em Mato Grosso somam 140 candidatos para as eleições de 6 de outubro, 44 a menos se comparado a 2020, quando totalizaram 184.
Embora o número de candidaturas seja menor, este ano há uma quantidade maior de prefeitos candidatos à reeleição, somando 86 gestores. Há quatro anos, dos 141 prefeitos, 53 pleitearam a recondução ao cargo.
O prazo para registro de candidaturas foi encerrado em 15 de agosto e a Justiça Eleitoral já iniciou a análise dos pedidos apresentados. A data-limite para o julgamento das solicitações de registro pelos juízes eleitorais é 16 de setembro, mas o quantitativo das candidaturas será concluído após as eleições.
O presidente da AMM, Leonardo Bortolin, destacou que a instituição está acompanhando o processo eleitoral e já se reuniu com o Tribunal Regional Eleitoral (TRE/MT) para ratificar a parceria e se colocar à disposição neste ano em que o pleito vai ocorrer em âmbito local. “A justiça eleitoral é uma instância de referência e certamente está preparada para conduzir as eleições municipais de forma organizada e transparente”, assinalou.
A instituição também está programando, para o início de 2025, um evento de formação para capacitar e orientar os novos gestores sobre boas práticas de governança, estratégias para melhorar a eficiência da gestão e aprimorar a prestação de serviços à população. A capacitação é tradicional no calendário de eventos da associação, que no próximo ano completa 42 anos de atuação em defesa dos municípios.
